Release will be delayed

I apologize to everyone following the series, but it seems I will be unable to get Part 2 ready to go by the end of June.  It will most definitely be out the first half of July (which was my original plan for release before the error in the Part 1 coming soon notice).  There will not be a blog post for next week as other commitments will prevent it. I plan to have a nice series of teasers for Part 2 when I return the first week of July.

Fantasy Role Playing Game in Kaden's World

This week, I wanted to announce that work has been ongoing for some time on a Fantasy Role Playing Game based in the same world as Kaden Al'Shaddar.  The game is called Fractured Worlds and will allow you take on the role of a warrior, wizard or really anything you would like within the epic universe of the stories. I will be posting more information on this game in the future, but for now, suffice it to say, if you see it in the stories, it should be in the game.

Mistake on my Part and Another Tidbit

I just noticed today that I had advertised that Part 2 would be coming in June when I have been working under the assumption that I would be releasing it in July.  This means I am a bit behind schedule.  I will be working hard to get the installment finished and ready to go this month and will keep people posted via this blog if the release is going to be changed at all.  I apologize for my error.

Continuing on the theme discussing Faernghul and sorcerers in last week's post, I figured I would provide some background information about magic in general.   There are four schools of magic in Gaelan: Necromancy, Enchantment, Sorcery, and Divination.  Each specializes in a different fundamental power of magic.  Necromancy deals with life energy.  Sorcery deals with elemental force like fire or lightning.  Enchantment deals with raw magical force. Divination deals with using the great Celestial Mirror that separates the world from the Netherworld as told in Ehdren's story, they can use it to see far away places or different times and also to transport themselves through space and time.  As with any kill someone that studies mage-craft will tend to be more proficient in some areas and less so in others.  For instance, Kaden has a natural talent for Necromancy, but tends to struggle with Divination.

I hope this provides a bit of insight on how magic works within Kaden's world.

Tidbits about Part 2

I've decided to give some teasers about things to come in Part 2.  You will get to see one of the great Mage-States, these are the last remnants of the Gaelan Imperium which was thrown down by the Orcs.  Now, they are powerful City-States ruled over by the mages of one of the old Schools of Wizardry.   This particular Mage-State, Faernghul, is ruled over by the Sorcerers.  Sorcerers are wizards that specialize in elemental magic such as fire or lightning rather than Necromancers like Kaden and Lethram that specialize in manipulating life force.  Not all wizards are specialized, however, for instance Ehdren is more of a generalist, he has some skill in all areas of magic, but is not particularly good at any one thing. He does, though, have a tendency toward spells and magic that enhances his physical abilities or defends him in close combat more so than attacking directly with magic or healing.

In future blog posts, I will give more tidbits of what's to come, without giving too much away, of course.  So, if you want to keep up to date on these teasers, follow my blog and don't forget to tell your friends about the stories.
